Tourists are a little frequent in Ko Tan. The island is accessible only by boat. The usual way to Ko Tan is from the fishing village Thong Krut on the south coast of Samui, which faces Ko Tan. It is possible to arrange individual day trips to Ko Tan there.
There are also companies offering trips to the island from other locations, including a longer journey on larger and more comfortable boats. The island has several beaches suitable for snorkelling. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, which survived and partly recovered from the widespread dynamite fishing in the region until the 1980s.
The most convenient snorkelling trips are available in Koh Samui. Just off the south coast of Samui, a group of tiny islands offers great snorkelling, reachable by Longtail boat. The trip starts at 09.00 AM and finishes at 1.00 PM

08:00 AM – Optional hotel transfer to Pang-Ka Pier, Thong Krut Beach
09:00 AM – Depart from Pang-Ka Pier by boat to Koh Tan (approx. 20 minutes)
09:20 AM – Arrive at Koh Tan, home to some of the area’s best coral reefs with abundant and colourful marine life
11:00 AM – Arrive at Pig Island (Koh Madsum), enjoy swimming, relaxing, or free time on the natural beach
12:30 PM – Depart and return to Koh Samui, with an optional transfer back to your hotel
This private program offers a calm and enjoyable way to explore Koh Tan and Pig Island in the morning, ideal for couples, families, or small groups.
Travelling by speedboat is a fun and exciting experience, but the ride can be bumpy. For safety and comfort reasons, this trip is not recommended for women who are heavily pregnant or for guests with lower back problems.
The Speedboat for this tour departs from Pang-Ka Pier.

Kindly note that the tour price does not include the entrance fee to Koh Mud-Sum, which is 50 THB per person.
